BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services is coming back to you with their quarterly Demystifying Concurrent Disorders Webinar Series to help patients, clients and families better understand the complex world of concurrent disorders.

Our next webinar session will be a two-part series on Demystifying Psychosis. It will take place via Zoom:

  • Demystifying Psychosis Part 1: Understanding and Treating Psychosis – Friday, February 3rd, 2:00-3:30pm PST

  • Demystifying Psychosis Part 2: Supporting yourself or your loved ones – Friday, February 10th, 2:00-3:30 p.m. PST

We will have 4 expert panelists who bring a diversity of perspectives, including clinical, sociological, and lived and living experience:

  • For part 1: Dr. Randall White, Medical Director of Vancouver Community Mental Health Services for Vancouver Coastal Health and Clinical Director of the BC Psychosis Program at UBC Hospital and Dr. Matthew Johnston, Sociologist and Post-Doctoral Fellow from Memorial University.

  • For part 2: Tracy Windsor, Peer Support Worker and Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) Peer Recovery Network Alum and Abigail Schultz, person with lived experience with schizoaffective/bipolar disorder and public speaker.

Demystifying Psychosis: Understanding psychosis and tips on how to support yourself and/or your loved ones. 3 out of every 100 people will experience an episode of psychosis in their lifetime, yet psychosis can often be difficult to understand and find support for.

On Friday, February 3rd and February 10th, 2:00-3:30 p.m. PST, BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services is hosting a two-part webinar series. In part one (February 3), we aim to unpack everything related to psychosis to provide a solid foundation for part two (February 10), where we will provide tips to help you support yourself or your loved one(s) when they are experiencing psychosis.

About the Concurrent Disorders Webinar Series: This is a quarterly event designed for patients and families, by patients and families. It is a welcoming space for all patients and families interested in learning about topics related to complex and concurrent mental health and substance use disorders.
