FamilySmart | Explosive Behaviour in Teens: Strategies to Empower Families

Event Date

British Columbia: Virtual

Every month, FamilySmart hosts online events for parents & caregivers who are parenting a child or youth with a mental health and/or substance use challenge called "in the know." Watch a video and share experiences and strategies that help in the hard moments and focus on strengthening our understanding and connection with our kids.

When our teens show up in explosive ways, we might sometimes blame ourselves, or not know how to respond during those hard moments. Finding help can feel challenging. Learn with us as Kirk Shields-Priddy (MSW/RSW, Group and Family Therapist with Fraser Health START Program) explains some causes of explosive behaviour in teens, and strategies for parents and teens. Discover some approaches that can help us when we are starting to explore resources and supports for our teens' explosive behaviour.

Join us and other families for this video presentation and discussion that's facilitated by a FamilySmart Family Peer Support Worker.
